One workspace

Everything between the bundle and the hearing

Each matter gets its own workspace. Litora reads the papers once, properly, and everything else — the assessment, the contradictions, the bench, the rehearsal, the reports — is built on that reading.

Reads the whole bundle

Scanned or typed, printed or handwritten, in any language. Every page transcribed and indexed, with page references you can check against the original.

Reading the bundle

Assesses the file

Where the matter is strong, where it will be attacked, the provisions engaged, the procedural points, and a reasoned estimate with its confidence shown.

Case assessment

Finds the contradictions

Times, names, places and quantities that do not agree across the MG11s, the custody record and the interview — each with both pages cited, ready for cross-examination.

Contradiction map

Reads the presiding judge

Ask in plain English — “does this judge exclude evidence under PACE s.78 for a Code C breach?” — and see the answer counted from that judge’s own judgments on Find Case Law, each one linked.

Bench insights

Prepares you for the hearing

Rehearse aloud against the clock while the bench interrupts, or watch the matter argued from both sides — then get a score and the points you missed.

Hearing preparation

Drafts on your letterhead

Letters before claim and responses, bail applications, witness statements, statements of case and skeleton arguments, plus the daily desk: diary, limitation, court fee and fee register.

Drafting tools

Builds the court papers

The chronology and case summary with a page for every date, and a trial bundle with an index, tabs, page numbers and bookmarks, ready to file or serve.

Preparation kit

Audits the procedure

Stop and search, arrest, detention and interview under PACE and its Codes, CPIA disclosure, CPR compliance — every lapse in red with the passage that shows it, and the missing papers with the request to get them.

Lapse scanner

Answers the other side

Their defence marked paragraph by paragraph — admitted, denied, not admitted — with a draft reply; their judgment distinguished on the facts; and a question plan for every witness.

Reply, judgment, cross

Tests the case at trial

Each element of the offence against the evidence, the day’s evidence against the MG11 or ABE interview, the medical evidence against the eye-witnesses, and a register of every exhibit and objection.

Trial tools

Drafts the grounds

Grounds of appeal, judicial review, bail, dismissal or no case to answer, numbered and each with its page, and the issues in a civil claim with who must prove each one.

Reading

The file you were handed, not a cleaned-up version of it

Served papers arrive scanned, skewed, stamped and handwritten in places. Litora transcribes every page in its own script, marks what is illegible instead of guessing, and keeps the page number on everything it tells you — so any point can be checked against the original in seconds.

  • Any bundle — PDFs, scans, photographs of pages, office documents
  • Any language — read in the original script and handwriting, reported in English
  • Page-cited — every finding points to the page it came from

Assessment

A reasoned view of the file, with its working shown

The assessment sets out your strongest points and the ones the other side will press, the provisions engaged, the procedural defects, and the authorities — each one checked and linked. The estimate never stands alone: it carries a confidence level worked out from what is actually on the file, and the questions that would move it.

  • Strengths and exposures, ranked, with page references
  • Questions the papers cannot answer — answer them and re-run
  • “What if”: test how a new document or fact changes the picture

Bench insights

How has this judge decided questions like yours?

For matters in the UK Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, Family Court, EAT and Upper Tribunal: choose the judge — or let Litora read the “Before:” from your latest order or judgment. Ask your question in plain English, pick the last one to five years, and Litora reads that judge’s published judgments on Find Case Law (The National Archives): the facts, what was decided and why. The percentage is counted from those judgments, never guessed — it is not a prediction.

  • Every judgment shown is real and links to the official judgment
  • What has persuaded this bench, and what has not

Hearing preparation

Rehearse before the bench does it for you

Speak your argument against a two to ten minute clock while the bench cuts in with questions drawn from the file. You get a score on clarity, structure, use of the record and answering the bench — with the strong points you never made and a better opening. Or run the full hearing: your counsel, theirs, and a bench that gives reasons.

  • Voice rehearsal with a scored report
  • A full argued hearing, citing only real, linked judgments
  • Ask any question of the file and get the page it comes from

Trial & grounds

Test every element before the court does

Each offence is broken into its elements from the words of the statute and set against the evidence served — “no evidence” in red. Add each day’s note of evidence and it is set against the MG11s and ABE interviews; the medical evidence is set against the eye-witnesses; every exhibit is kept with its objections. Then the grounds are drafted, numbered, each with its page.

  • Ingredients matrix — for dismissal, no case to answer, bail or the closing speech
  • Deposition tracker & exhibit register — a trial log for every witness
  • Medical evidence — the time of death worked out by arithmetic, not guessed
  • Grounds builder — appeal, judicial review, bail, dismissal or no case to answer

How it works

From bundle to hearing in four steps

No setup, no training, no templates to fill. If you can upload a PDF, you can use it.

Open the matter

Name it, choose the court level, type the court or tribunal — and the judge, where judgments are published — and set the question to be decided.

Upload the bundle

Drop in everything as it is. Reading starts at once, page by page, and you can watch it progress.

Read the analysis

The assessment, the contradictions and the bench, each with page references and linked judgments.

Prepare and take it with you

Fourteen preparation tools, rehearsal and drafting, shared with your team — and every result as a PDF or Word file.

The full walkthrough

Built to be checked

Work you can stand behind in court

Legal work is only useful if it can be verified. Litora is built so that every claim it makes can be traced to a page of your file or to a real judgment.

Real, linked judgments

Case law is checked against Find Case Law; every authority shown links to the official judgment. Anything else is removed.

Page references

Findings point to the page they come from, so you can check the original in seconds.

Confidence, shown

Worked out from what is on the file — not asked of the model — and lowered when key papers are missing.

Confidential

Encrypted, scoped to your chambers or firm, never sold or shared, and deleted when you delete it.

Questions

What lawyers ask first

Does it replace a lawyer?

No. It prepares material for a qualified solicitor or barrister to review, test and settle. Nothing it produces is legal advice, and nothing should be filed or relied on without that review.

Can it really read a scanned MG11 or a handwritten statement?

Yes — scanned pages, photographs and handwriting are read, and papers in any language are read in their own script and reported in English. Where a line is genuinely illegible it is marked as illegible, never guessed at. Check any number or date you intend to rely on against the original page.

Are the judgments it cites real?

Yes. Judgments are found first on Find Case Law (The National Archives) and only those may be cited; each one links to the official judgment, and any other case name is removed before you see it. A real judgment can still be misread — open it before it goes near a filing.

Does the percentage predict the result?

No. The assessment estimate is a reading of prospects on the papers supplied, with its confidence and reasoning shown. The bench percentage is a count from the judge’s published judgments. Neither is a forecast, and neither should be repeated to a client as a number in its own right.

Can my juniors and clerks use it too?

Yes. Add them from Team & Tasks as Solicitor / Barrister, Junior / Associate or Clerk (view only) — seats are free and all work is paid from one wallet. Give them tasks with due dates, and choose whether each member sees every matter or only their own.

What happens to my client’s material?

It is stored encrypted, visible only inside your organisation, sent to our AI provider only to be read, and never sold or shared. You can delete a matter at any time. The details are on the security page.
